An Empty house, an empty shed
No dining table, tee vee or bed
No wooden shelves stacked high with books
No art on walls, just empty hooks
An empty fridge, the pantry bare
No welcome coffee, just light and air
The space awaits for owners new
A family young, kids equals two
No outdoor plants, now with friends
No need for mower to garden tend
Fare thee well, my Kinglake view
And Macedon sunset, I’ll miss you too.
The sun will still power our plight
And bottled gas for dinner at night
The wind we’ll harness and we’ll feel free
In our new life upon the sea
Stay tuned…….
Fantastic poem, Trish! Good luck to you and Andrew and looking forward to reading more.
