We have had, it could be argued, a most uninspiring time for the past few months. After getting back from an off-boat trip mid May our time was spent firstly in the maintenance yard, and then hanging around for all prescribed jobs to be finalised. This year annual maintenance was supposed to be simple. And quick. A rigging inspection however put a stop to a speedy departure from the Gold Coast and the expected early start to the sailing season. By the time we got out of the slip yard, got our mast removed, and then booked in to get it reinstalled, we had expended two and a half months! Most of this time was spent waiting – hiding from wind. And rain. Whilst we did walk to some new destinations, our life for almost a quarter of 2023 was fairly mundane. Because the theme is similar for May, June and July 2023, I have put the three newsletters in the one post. May is quite small, June is 15.4 Meg (due to, I think, not readjusting the size of the jpeg files when I saved them across), and July is 3 Meg.
We won’t complain about our stops and starts of the previous few weeks, compared to your situation. Sounds like a very tedious and expensive time!
Hi Chris. Definately expensive..financially and emotionally, as I am sure you can appreciate. ‘Not knowing’ is a very taxing activity!
